GDPR at Parkwood

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will take effect in the UK from 25 May 2018. It replaces the existing law on data protection (the Data Protection Act 1998) and gives individuals more rights and protection in how their personal data is used by organisations. Schools must comply with its requirements and this page provides information on what we have done to apply GDPR in our school.

The purpose of a Privacy Notice

 

Providing accessible information to individuals about the use of personal information (data) is a key element of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and sets a legal framework with which education settings and local authorities must comply.

All education settings and local authorities are data controllers and data processors in their own right and, as such, they have a duty to inform pupils, staff and parents how they process the data that is within their control.

We have also issued parents with an new 'Acceptable Use Agreement' and 'Request for consent for the use of pictures/videos'. If you wish to review a copy of either of those documents please come to the school office.
